WIP Me Now!
Next JAFF Writer/Reader Work-In-Progress Reading on 3/21/26
This is a quick note, an announcement of a coming attraction.
The next JAFF Writer/Reader Get-together Work-In-Progress ZOOM Session is scheduled for Saturday, March 21, 2026, at 12 Noon Eastern (US) Daylight Time (EDT). You get to do the math for your time zone.
For those of you who are unfamiliar with this event, it all started at the first JAFF Writer/Reader Get-together in 2019, held in November in Washington DC (Sorry, Victoria, but that’s as close as I can get). ’Twas an in-person (in the hotel bar) slam. Ten readers. Yes, there was wine. If you desire to indulge, who am I to judge, although Alice McVeigh and Elin Ericsson have legit justifications—the sun is definitely over the yardarm. If Natacha Rose wants a 2 AM bracer, who am I to judge?
People loved it, so it became a regular “thing” beginning in January 2020. With Covid and lockdown, this was how many of us got our Austenesque fix during those dark days.
It shifted to bi-monthly back in 2024, but we are still going strong. The format is the same…all ZOOM, all at no charge. Two-hour event. Five readings in the first hour, then one hour of Austenesque conversation in chatrooms with five folks (give or take).
To join, please register your email so our Mistress of Mayhem, Stephanie Vardavas, can send you the Zoom link. You will need to do that by Wednesday so the system can catch up on updates.
JAFF Writer Reader WIP Registration
We are piggybacking on the JAFFCon link, so do not think you are signing up for a convention that happened in November. Scroll down (a short scroll) to where you sign up with your name and email. Stephanie will email the link on Thursday, March 19.
This month’s lineup features old and new voices reading from their Works In Progress.
Stephanie Vale: The Music Lesson
Kelly Boggs: A Rake Redeemed or The Gretna Rose
Lyndsay Constable: Lost in Love’s Labyrinth
Melissa Anne: No Great Consequence
Don Jacobson: The Ambassador’s Wife
Please join us. Look forward to seeing you on the Zoom machine!

I strongly recommend this get together. It is an opportunity to hear the early versions of future JAFF best sellers, and the 2nd hour is the opportunity to meet and talk to authors and readers on JAFF and many other wide-ranging topics.
