"Benjamin Fife has been up to his audio elbows as he performs the book."
Thanks for the reminder to clean my studio. Should make narrating the rest of the book considerably easier. X)
But truly, your work is a pleasure to narrate Don. Having narrated a decent amount of Austen variations, I find yours highly refreshing because they are - first and foremost - well researched historical fiction. Your attention to detail & willingness to stretch the intellect of your readers creates a fertile bed for planting Austen's well known characters to examine how Lizzy and Darcy would grow as individuals in a much different setting.
Really appreciate your kind comments. Your performance makes the work so much better. You find the rhythm that makes (as V. Woolf wrote) every word the correct word.
Congratulations on your new novel. I look forward to reading it as I am sure that you have conducted an enormous amount of research that will inform the reader concerning the trials and tribulations that Darcy, Elizabeth, Jane, Bingley, the Colonel, and Bennet had to endure to free enslaved peoples.
The whole idea of the way Clarkson, Wilberforce, and Grenville split the slavery question into trade and bondage hit me as brilliant. They knew they could not get total abolition, so they went for the trade which would starve the beast.
Nice article! I also liked the excerpt!
Thank you so much. There will be more coming including the cover reveal before the 22nd.
