I'm very eager to read your new book, Don. I like the premise and the characters. I know I'll be reading it so I only skimmed the chapter sample, didn't want to spoil it. Best of luck with this book's launch.
The Sailor's Rest sounds fantastic! I love the idea of a cross-over of Persuasion and P&P. In my humble opinion, the characters of Persuasion are so relatable and it's great to see them get more spotlight. I enjoyed reading about how you analyzed the timeline and how to work the story together.
The beginnings of a friendship between the two best-loved of Austen's heroes! They have many traits and values in common, so it's easy to imagine them getting on. Elizabeth and Anne would be natural friends too, I think, although Elizabeth is much more outgoing. Can't wait to read more!
I, to, saw the foursome as natural friends. I loved the opportunity to explore each. I truly enjoyed demonstrating Wentworth's talent. The ending takes the Darcy we know and turned him on his head...to an extent. But, then again, deception is the theme we explore.

Thank you so much. There are several themes flowing through the book...including deception...at least in as much as we see what we want to believe.
Sounds great! A crossover sounds fun and interesting! It is nice to use other characters too!
I tried to strike a balance which allowed them all to stand shoulder-to-shoulder.

I wanted to avoid the whole funny, humor, hah-hah aspect of a mashup. Plus, Persuasion is such unexplored territory in the Austenesque qorld.
