Hi Joy, Thank you for your thoughtful comment. I love the cover. And, I feel my historical approach adds to Austen's work by providing stimulating what-ifs.
Thank you s much. I feel that Janet captured the grandeur of the environment--and the remarkable nature of what was accomplished. Look forward to your thoughts on the book.
I think this is a terrific topic for a book. Your books are always well researched. The cover sets the tone of Westminster - great visual. Thank you for the excerpt and giveaway.
Mansfield Park is probably my favorite Austen book (I KNOW!). The "great silence" in a book named after the justice who noted that slavery had no basis in English Common law inspired me to contemplate how Thomas Bennet--a man born in the Enlightenment--and Darcy and Elizabeth--both children of fathers who grew up during the Enlightenment--would have played a role in ending that silence if Austen had so chosen.
What a wonderful, classic cover. I do not have a connection to many of the new covers, particularly when they are used with Regency period stories.
And I do not appreciate Rafflecopter. Normally I simply delete the site when it's used. But I liked the cover--and your other works--not to take the opportunity to tell you. While I've not yet read the book, it may be, in my opinion, my favorite cover. And that's a weighty statement, considering I read at least 300, sometimes over 500 variations in a year.
Hi...thank you for your kind note. I fell in love with the cover because it felt so classic but did send a timeless vibe thanks to the photograph which makes the image relatable.
